Sofía Vergara is born in Barranquilla, Colombia1.
Sofía became known to the public as a television presenter on the Spanish broadcaster Univision Network in the late 1990s.
She became best known for one of the leading roles in the American sitcom Modern Family (2009-2020). Thanks to that role, she was nominated for four Golden Globes, four Emmy Awards and ten Screen Actors Guild Awards2. In 2012 and 2013 she became the most watched actress on television3. In 2014 she was ranked 32nd. In 2015 she was 57th in Forbes magazine’s ‘100 Most Powerful Women in the World’.
