Short biography
Salma Hayek Pinault, is a Mexican-American-Lebanese actress.
She received public attention in the 1990s under the guidance of Robert Rodriguez. Her works include « Desperado (1995) », « A Night in Hell (1996) » and » The Faculty (1998). In 2002, she served as the news editor for Julie Taymor’s biography Frida, which she also produced. Her performance as Frida Kahlo earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress.
She then went on to work on commercial projects: headlines for Coup d’éclat (2004) and Bandidas (2006), and then took the second place in the comedies of Copains pour toujours (2010) and Professor Poids Lourd (2012) Bit. At the same time, she accepted the headlines of independent films. Despite this, she did not attract attention, such as « Americano » (2011) by French director Mathieu Demy or Alex Demy. Álexde la Iglesia’s play « Chance » (Un jour de Chance (2012)).COPY
With two projects where she played the central roles, she once again gained critical recognition and managed to deliver complex performances: firstly, Matteo Garrone’s fantasy film Tale of Tales (2016) and secondly, Miguel Arteta’s social satire Beatriz at Dinner (2017).
