Penélope Cruz Sanchez is a Spanish actress, born April 28, 1974 in Alcobendas.
Spotted at the age of fifteen, Penélope Cruz begins to play on television at sixteen. She obtains the role of Silvia in the film Ham, ham in 1992. Penélope Cruz plays in many films until 2000, in particular: Open your eyes (1997), The Hi-Lo Country (1998)… In 2001, she starred in the films Vanilla Sky and Blow.
She has built a solid career by playing in major films.
In 2009, she was the first Spanish actress to win an Oscar, for her role in the film Vicky Cristina Barcelona3 and also to have her star on the Walk of Fame. In 2018, she receives a César d’Honneur for her career and contribution to the entertainment industry.
She actively supports a number of charities: she has volunteered in Uganda and also in India.
